L.A. Roadtrip | Day One

We left Santa Cruz almost on time, getting to Santa Barbara by early afternoon. We stopped for In 'N Out burgers and a smoke break, then continued on down Highway 101 to downtown Los Angeles. Rooms were booked at the Historic Mayfair Hotel on 7th Street, which we found out was about two blocks into the ghetto. I was happy with our tenth floor view of the surrounding city and streets. The sunset was beautiful every night, and there was a delicious Thai place two doors down. Experimented with some long exposure sunset and night shots out of the hotel window. One of my very favorite parts of travelling and cities are the lights at night; there's something magical and overwhelming about soo many lights and lives blazing out there in the unknown.
