Ceremonial Cacao is the mother of chocolate, a special ritualized drink made from roasted and ground cacao seeds. Cacao is used in traditional South American ceremony to facilitate meditation and open the heart to love, unity and gratitude. The flood of theobromine and other anti-oxidants in a ceremonial dose of cacao helps you to connect more deeply to yourself and your community.

Instead of rushing into your shoot, we start by sitting down together to share a cup of cacao. I encourage you to speak your intentions for the shoot into your cup, as we give a moment of gratitude to the elements, to ourselves, to the earth we will be shooting on.

My intention with this opening ritual is to allow you to ground yourself (few people are super excited to have their picture taken!) and realign with your goals and the passion you have for your business. As the cacao warms its way through you, you may feel more expansive and happy. And I just wanna see you smile!

I am honored to be a carrier of sacred cacao, the purest form of chocolate, and the heart-opening plant medicine of South America. After spending time in rural Guatemala in 2019-2020, connecting with Mayan elders, sitting in ceremony, and learning about this sacred fruit’s gentle yet powerful energy, I was gifted with the blessing of Nana Marina to serve ceremonial cacao.

Bringing cacao to your wedding can be a beautiful way for couples to set aside some time for themselves, ideally during the first look or getting ready portion of the day.

I begin by setting space and clearing energy as you receive your cups. I will guide a grounding meditation to help you release stress and land more fully in the moment, in your body and with each other.

I invite you to speak intentions into your cups, holding them at the heart, whispering your desires for yourself, your union, and the other into the magic alchemy of water, fire, earth and air. After infusing your cups with your love and intention, you are invited to exchange cups and drink each other’s blessings, enjoying some time together as I step away and allow this warmth and love to infuse your system.
