SuperGoop! SPF Review
Not all sunscreens are made alike, and as I slowly replace my current arsenal of beauty products with CF options, I am finding that sometimes a few more dollars can go a long way. No longer able to use my traditional drugstore sunblocks this summer, I've researched and tried a few new products. I dipped a toe into the all-natural realm (heavy greasy Badger goo, no thank you) before learning about SuperGoop! in a well-placed magazine.
I ordered the Defense Refresh Setting Mist SPF 50 after being intrigued by it's description and the brand's cruelty-free stance. I was very pleased to find that the spray was available in different sizes. I always try to get new products in the smallest size possible, both to save money and avoid the inevitable clutter when I don't finish something but refuse to throw it away. When I purchased it a few months ago, the 1-ounce was the smallest available, for $12, but now there's an even smaller 15ml purse-size.
The product arrived very nicely packaged (unnecessary but appreciated). The product claims to be a makeup setting mist, a mattifier, and an SPF of 50. The sun protection factor comes from commonly used chemical sunscreens, such as avobenzone. After several trials over makeup and bare skin, I can't really say I would repurchase this any time soon. Maybe for a tropical vacation. As for it's efficiency in my everyday life, I can't really attest to it being a true mattifier or lasting makeup setter. What it is is a sheer, makeup-and-face-friendly, non-aerosol SPF spray. Somehow I haven't used up the tiny bottle yet, even though I've been putting it on my arms and neck when I have to work outdoors.

- Packaging - Very good, no clogging
While I like the setting mist and admire it's ambitious scope, I am really delighted by the sample tube of the Daily Correct CC Cream SPF 35+ self-adjusting color in light to medium. I almost dismissed it as filler, but I'm glad I took the time to read the tiny writing! The middle of the three shades available, it suits my skin-tone and hasn't caused any breakouts. I used the cream on days when I would be working outside, and was consistently surprised by the coverage, natural finish, and how well it worked under foundation. This stuff does it's job of reflecting damaging rays with long-lasting physical (i.e. mineral) sun protection, which makes it great for sensitive skin. I would honestly purchase the full size immediately if I wasn't so into trying new products (I want to try the IT Cosmetics cc cream next).
