Photographing the Milky Way
Had a really interesting evening up in the Santa Cruz Mountains a few night ago. I went to Roaring Camp at night to photograph the Milky Way for the first time. Being up beyond the town lights made the stars super clear and plentiful; it was a nice change to be out in the clear crisp cold. Long exposures of 20 to 25 seconds captured the Milky Way streaking across the sky. It was slightly visible to the naked eye, but the camera was able to pick up so much more of its spectacular brilliance.
