Last Sunday I made it out to the Strawberry Festival, which is held every year in downtown Watsonville. It's worth the short drive for all the insanely delicious food stands. Last year I also spotted tons of Mexican blankets for sale, but this year I couldn't find any, which was disappointing. I consoled myself with lots of fresh strawberries - in the form of shortcake and milkshake. I love strawberries!! The flavor, the color, everything about them is just so good!

The Strawberry Festival is a huge event for people of all ages. There's a live band or DJ playing at each end, lots of kiddie carnival rides and games, endless food, a beer garden, face painting, trinkets (so many Pokemon!), souvenirs, and of course, contests. Strawberry Lane is a row of numbered stalls featuring strawberry confections meant to be judged, offering options from strawberry ice to strawberry funnel cake to strawberry krispy kreme sandwiches. Definitely not a healthy morning for me, but hey, it only happens once a year, right? Naturally, Eric's favorite part were the street dogs and garlic fries...

I have worn this breezy olive green maxi dress from Target non-stop since I bought it. I love the black shoulder details and trim. I just wish it had pockets!. My roomy maroon J. Crew leather tote carries everything from my bulky camera to extra napkins, which definitely came in handy for my sticky fingers. I had to restrain myself from getting a funnel cake on our way out. I'm glad I did, because I could definitely feel the effects of all that sugar later. Here's to a healthier weekend!
